What is the St. William Dads’ Club?

The Dads’ Club is a Parish Organization whose purpose is to provide and promote expansion in Spiritual, Academic, Athletic, and Recreational activities within the confines of the Catholic Community of St. William.

Who makes up the Dads’ Club membership?

Adult men and women of the parish may be members of the St. William Dads’ Club. While most of our members are men with school-age children we have a number of women in our membership and some of our most active members are those without school-age children and even retirees and grandparents. Don’t let our name mislead you.. you don’t need to be a “dad” to be a member of the Dads’ Club.

How does the Dads’ Club accomplish this purpose?

All the positions at the Club are volunteer positions. It takes an enormous amount of talent and time to run all of our activities. It is through the willingness of our volunteers to be involved in the St. William community that our purpose is achieved.

What does the Dads’ Club do?

The Dads’ do everything! We lead, coach, cook, build, paint, serve donuts, play golf, sell trees, wash dishes, and volunteer (or get volunteered).

Through our fundraisers we are able to provide support for the various youth activities here at St. William. In late spring, we hold our annual golf outing.  During Christmas time we have the Christmas Tree Sale. In lent we sponsor the Lenten Fish Fry. In the summer we host a golf outing.

One of our main activities is the running of the sports and club programs at St. William. Currently we have CYO programs in volleyball, football, basketball, and boys baseball. We also have an intramural basketball program, and sports clinics. We also coordinate the First Lego League Robotics program.

In addition to athletics, the Dads’ Club supports the education of our children by supporting the day school and after-school religious education programs. The Dads’ Club works closely with Youth Ministry at St. William Parish providing direct support as well as funding for special areas of need (such as the Rainbow Conference, youth leadership training, and Caritas Mission Trip).  The Dads’ Club is also a generous supporter of many works of christian service throughout the parish lending financial support to the Society of St. Vincent DePaul, vocations support, the Usher’s Club college scholarships program, and shelter week. The Dads’ Club has been instrumental in many campus improvements throughout the years as well.

Why do I want to get involved?

This may be a tough decision in today’s world when time is so valuable to each family. However, the time spent enriching the St. William community and your family’s spiritual community will never be wasted.  Plus, kids love to see their parents involved in their activities and the Dads’ Club gives you that opportunity.

How can I become involved?

Take the first step by attending one of our monthly meetings. The St. William Dads’ Club meets every 4th Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM in Lower Zeph Hall.  Then, raise your hand!  Get to meet the other “dads” of the parish.

God Bless.
